Abstract
Background:
This study is to analyze total error that is a combined errors of the random and systematic errors for one year.
Methods:
We measured total error using H2 manufactured by Technicon Instrument Coporation from January to December, 1993. Calibration performed the average of sample population from ten values full within target value with reference material (TESTpoint)
each
month. And also we tested TESTpoint supplied by Korean agent two times with within run, and three times with between run in a day druing consecutive days per month in order to calculate SD. CV. Average on each reference sample poulation of the
thirty
values.
Results:
Average systematic bias was less than monthly random error and insert SD in all parameters. A change in the difference between target value and average of the sample population greater than I.O grand average of standard deviation on monthly
sample
population found upward shift and downward shift in running control chart in same month.
Conclusions:
We concluded that total error analysis is a very important tool to analyze and to manage self-variation in one's laboratory for continuous quality improvement in total quality management for consecutive year planning.
